Katie graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught in a large public school system in metro Atlanta until the birth of her first child. From this experience and from her following experiences working with children and adults in various educational settings through educational consulting and tutoring, Katie developed a passion to see children and adults educated more holistically. She desires to see them recognize and develop their God given gifts, talents, and passions to love God and love others as contributing members of their communities. The more she learned through her husband’s health journey, the more her passions for holistic education and holistic health began to merge.

To continue her education in both of these fields, Katie enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Evergreen Holistic Health and Evergreen Education were birthed out of a desire to help children and adults thrive in life, as they live according to their amazing design. Katie is excited to join the City Academy team as Curriculum Specialist, implementing the Evergreen Educational Framework, to support and realize the vision and mission of the school.
